Halloween has settled firmly into the Polish nightlife calendar over the past couple of decades, helped considerably by landing right before All Saints on 1 November, which is a public holiday. The result is that 31 October usually comes with a day off attached, and the city treats it accordingly.
White Chocolate has an unfair advantage on this particular night. We are a brick-vaulted cellar beneath the Old Town, lit low and warm, reached by a set of stone stairs behind a discreet door. Most venues spend the last week of October trying to look like this.
The Room Does the Work
Low arched ceilings, exposed brick, warm amber light and deep shadow between the salons. It is an atmospheric space on an ordinary Tuesday, and on Halloween it needs very little help.
That said, the look is elegant rather than gruesome. If you are after fog machines and rubber spiders this is not the venue. If you want somewhere that feels genuinely atmospheric while remaining a good-looking room, it is.
Dressing for It
Our dress code is smart, and that does not lapse on 31 October. Costume is welcome in the spirit of the night, but the smart end of it works far better here than the full horror treatment. Think a good outfit with an edge to it rather than a supermarket costume bag.
The All Saints Effect
Because 1 November is a public holiday in Poland, Halloween night reliably runs late whatever day of the week it falls on. Many people are travelling to family the following day, but a great many more are simply off work.
Book ahead. Halloween is a busy date and the salons go early, particularly when 31 October lands on a Friday or Saturday and we are open until 05:00.

Lightly. The cellar is already a vaulted, candlelit brick space, so we lean on the room itself rather than adding a lot of props. The style here stays elegant rather than gruesome.

Yes, in keeping with our smart dress code. A stylish costume fits the room well. Full horror outfits and anything that obscures the face are best kept for elsewhere.

Yes. It is one of the busier single nights in the autumn calendar and the private salons are usually spoken for well in advance.
How late are you open?
From 20:00 nightly. Closing is 03:00 Sunday to Wednesday, 04:00 Thursday, and 05:00 Friday and Saturday, so the day of the week determines how late Halloween can run.
