After the Final Whistle

The stadium empties, the group is still together, and nobody wants to call it a night at ten.

Krakow is a serious sporting city. Wisła and Cracovia between them account for one of the oldest and fiercest rivalries in Polish football, and Tauron Arena brings in everything from handball to boxing to concerts on a scale the Old Town cannot match. All of it finishes at roughly the same time, and all of it releases a large number of people into the evening at once.

White Chocolate is not a sports bar and does not pretend to be. What it offers is the next part of the night: a private salon in a vaulted Old Town cellar, comfortable seating, and a room where a group can carry on properly once the crowd has dispersed.

A Change of Register

The appeal after a match is precisely that it is different. A few hours of standing in a crowd makes a seated, warm, low-lit room considerably more attractive than another loud bar.

Groups tend to arrive around ten or eleven, which is comfortably within our hours, and stay until closing.

Getting Here From the Arena

Tauron Arena sits east of the centre and is a short taxi ride from the Old Town. We are at ul. Św. Tomasza 16, a few streets from the Main Market Square, which makes us easy to reach and easy to leave.

For matches at the Wisła or Cracovia grounds, both of which are west of the centre near Błonia, the ride in is similarly short.

One Thing to Know

We are a smart-dress venue. Club colours, scarves and replica shirts are not going to get past the door, which catches out the occasional group arriving straight from a game.

If you are coming after a match, factor in a change of clothes or plan for a different sort of evening. Call ahead either way and we will hold a salon.

Frequently asked questions

Do you show matches on screens?

No. We are a club rather than a sports bar, and there are no screens in the salons. We are somewhere to go after the game rather than to watch it.

Can we come in football shirts?

No. Our dress code is smart and replica shirts, scarves and club colours are not admitted. Plan to change if you are coming from a match.

How far are you from Tauron Arena?

A short taxi ride. The Arena is east of the city centre and we are in the Old Town at ul. Św. Tomasza 16, close to the Main Market Square.

Will you take a group arriving late after a game?

If you have called ahead, yes. Large groups arriving unannounced late in the evening are difficult for a venue this size, so a phone call makes all the difference.

What time do you close?

03:00 Sunday to Wednesday, 04:00 Thursday, 05:00 Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 20:00 every night.

Carry on after the game

Call ahead, change out of the colours, and have a salon ready for the second half of the evening.
