From Krakow Airport Into the Old Town

There is nothing to do at Balice. Fortunately the good part of the city is not far.

Kraków Airport sits at Balice, roughly eleven kilometres west of the city, and like most regional airports it offers very little reason to linger. The train into Kraków Główny takes around twenty minutes and runs frequently; a taxi or ride-hailing car covers it in a similar time depending on traffic.

That puts the Old Town within easy reach of an evening flight, and White Chocolate with it. We are at ul. Św. Tomasza 16, a few streets from the Main Market Square and a short walk from the main station where the airport train arrives.

Getting In From Balice

The airport train runs directly to Kraków Główny, which adjoins Galeria Krakowska on the edge of the Old Town. From there it is a few minutes on foot through the Planty to reach us.

By road the journey is comparable outside rush hour. Either way, an evening arrival leaves plenty of time - we are open until 03:00 midweek and 05:00 on Friday and Saturday.

Useful for a Long Layover

A long connection or an early-morning departure the following day is a common reason people end up with an unplanned evening in Krakow. Rather than spending it at the airport or in a hotel near it, the Old Town is genuinely accessible.

Bear in mind the last airport train and the timing of your onward flight before committing to a late night.

Arriving With Luggage

One practical warning: our cloakroom handles coats, not suitcases. If you are coming straight from the airport with bags, leave them at your accommodation first or call ahead so we can be honest about what is possible.

The dress code is smart, which is worth knowing if you have been travelling all day.
